Much like me fellow footie, I nay think I'm one to be standin' around keep with nout to do but a list o' tasks for some extra copper seems grand to me.

Task One

First task seems simple enough, so I grabs me mace and heads out eastward toward tha' Nihon bridge. Nay takes long before one of em ogres comes lumberin' through the trees at me, so I give it the bashin it deserves. Em stinky feathrey women too, plenty of those lurkin' around and 'em feathers makes grand arra's n bolts fer another task. Bleedin' ettins mind you seem smarter than 'em looks 'cus I could nay find em, but still after an hour or two I put the fith one to sleep.

O'course thar be more than three kinds a critter in 'em woods.here were trolls, 'eadless, spiders, llamas and even a swirly whirlwind with wytchery that almost knocked me down.

http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/4057/task1wj7.jpg

Task Two

Fer the second task, I grabbed me some cloth and dyed it milita colours, a good pile of recruitment books an a nice big table and dragged it all through the moongate to New Haven. Twas' the afternoon' at the end of the week so me was thinkin' that there be more chance of a youngun' wandering 'round without direction and I might be able to nudge em in the direction of Stonekeep.

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/6962/task2qr6.gif

A few people came to chat, and a fella holdin' a blade almost as big as himself asked to keep a book and said 'e was interested and would be in touch soon. I stayed there an hour and besides some fool taint thinkin' I was from Vesper nay many more people came by so I decided to pack up and put some banners all round Sosaria.

Task Three

Well, seems another Junior is a hard thing to find these days so this one will ave' ta wait.

Task Four

Arra's n Bolts all duely gathered, will pass em to command at first chance.

Task Five

Still workin' on this one

Task Six

Well, Church cleanin nay to excitin' but tis honest work and tis worth doin'. I brushed all the seats, swept all tha floors and steps and cleaned all the nooks n' crannys but takin care not to disterb anythin' holy lookin. And o'course since I was there I took time to pray before I left.

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/6808/task06re1.gif

Task Seven

Likewise, soon as I finds another junior I'll see to draggin em to the bandits and get this part done.

Task Eight

Log choppin'...nay trainee should be a stranger to this so I set about straight away and although I am nay so good with numbers, me thinks more than two 'undred n fifty logs were stacked onto tha pile.

http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/3328/task8xa9.jpg

Task Nine

Ten gems of the same kind, me thinks about this one for a while and I remembers one of me first trips to Illshenar to slay a boney dragon. I remembers passin' though a cave with glitterin gems in tha walls.

So I sets off though tha' gate to the shrine of Sacrifice. A short walk and a quick scrap with a few bandits and a coupla' rats later sure enough I found em caves. Green gems sparklin' at me embedded in the rock, but I could nay budge em no matter how much I bashed em with me mace.

Was nay given much time to try mind you 'cos the rocks 'emselves stood up and started bashin' away on me shiny new footie armour. Twas a merry dance with two of em rock beasts but me mace and sheild did me proud and I knocked em down. On searchin' the fallen creatures I found a shiny purple gem so I decides I should explore this cave some more, perhaps I might find me the ten gems by takin down a good number of these walkin rock piles.

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/2941/task9ks5.gif

Sure enough there were nay shortage of the beasts and before long one that seemed made of pure gold lept up at me and almost knocked me down, thankfully all em trips to the badlands lately have made me double quick with a bandage so after a long battle and a lot of runnin' around I took it down.

After what seemed like hours, and another two more of em golden bastards I counted ten star sapphires and just as bloody well 'cos me bandages were runnin' out and me new armour was bashed ta bits.

Task Ten

Five liches alone, well methinks I'll hafta learn a little more of how to swing me mace before I try this one, but I'll nay leave it long fer sure.

Task Seven

Twas an otherwise quiet evenin' in Stonekeep, just Mike an meself and we was both thinkin' the same thing. So of we headed forced march down south to the brigand camp to cull the numbers of those unholy blueskins and gather some wooden shields while we are at it.

http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/4386/task07cz0.gif

We made a good team, keepin' each other healed while they came at us with their strange brand of wytchery. Twas nay long before we were knee deep in fallen elves and buildin' a pile of shields.

After a while I decided we should lay all em shields out in the road 'afore the camp so we could get a good idea of the numbers we collected. We gathered up enough each fer the task, and left the rest to serve as a warnin' to any other elves thinkin' of steppin' out of line.

Task Ten

Again I finds' meself alone in the keep so I figured twas about time I took down some of 'em creepy old dead wizards in the woods down south.

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3322/task10ob1.gif

Twas nay much fun to be sure an' nay long before I was eatin' a facefull o' dirt thanks to thems nasty magicks. After a few tries 'owever, I came to realise that although that wytchery is strong they can nay keep castin' forever, so I baited em to throw their magic and ran around like a mad thing healin' meself until they seemed spent and ran in an gave em a taste of me mace. Twas a merry dance but I started to get a fell for it and before long I was knockin' em down. One of em had nicked me new shiny footy chainmail legs so I chased it down into a nearby buildin' and showed it what happens when you steal from the militia.

Task 3

Twas' a good amout of time spare before the "ball" in Britain, and there were plenty of Trainees stood around the keep nay makin' emselves useful so I rounded em up and marched em to the dungeon despise to slay a lord of the ogres.

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/1913/ogrelordxn8.gif

Before we engaged I lined em up and told em that we would be best usin' the skirmishing tactic since all the healin' possible wont help a trainee that falls over in one hit.

We danced with the fat beast and finaly knocked it down, but barely had time to celebrate before another rushed us and we had to deal with that one too.

With two ogre lords slain, and time fer the ball gettin closer I ordered everyone to prey home so they could get dressed up for the evenin'.

Task Five - Polish three higher ranking guardsmens boots.

Now this was the hardest, cos most guardsmen dont want their boots polished. Smit bein the exception back when I was a trainee, but all other times I've asked nobodys been interested.

So I decided to set up a little collection for charity, a small donation to clean your boots and it goes to a worthy cause. The healers up in Deep Forest Healing are researching a cure to the madness that plagues the townsfolk when the cultists invade, thats a worthy cause.

So I set up a little stall, and soon enough I had the boots polished in no time, then handed the gold in to the healers and readied meself for another duty.

Guards boots polished:

William Smit

Well, seein as how it's been rather quiet around Stonekeep lately, I decided ter get started on some of those junior tasks everyone's been talkin about. So I picked up my axe and got some lumber for the shop. Wasn't too hard. Then I set off to clean the tavern...now that was a task! There was spilt drinks an Avatar know what in the corners...bleh. Then this odd half-dressed man comes in and started askin me all these questions...I've never seen im before in my life, he was kinda worrying me. So I pretended like I didn't know the answers and he left, probly thinkin I was some kinda idjit. But in the end, I did manage ter get the tavern clean.

Oh, and I also managed ter rid Yew of another damned llama...feckin vermin.

Task three
You and two other juniors must travel to the Dungeon Despise and slay an Ogre Lord.

Participants
Ian, Footman
Jules Sandbagger, Footman
Bernard Wilson, Trainee

Ogre slayers
After going over and checking our gear, the three of us sat out from Stonekeep heading for the dungeon of Despise. The travel itself went without any problems and we arrived at the dungeon entrance a couple of hours later.

We then made our way down into the cave, trying not to draw to much attention from the ettins and elementals that lurked around in the dark. At least we managed to pass the lizzardmen without alerting them on our way down, no sight of them at all. Evading the ettins was easier said than done, and we got overrun by a group of them as we were about to enter the next cave opening. We had several ettins approching in front of us along with a couple of them trying to flank our rear. We formed up and engaged the enemy...
What felt like only seconds later, I woke up rather confused in the middle of a pile of ettins, with Jules and Ian looking down on me. I had been knocked down as the fight started, but the footmen managed to fight them of. Lucky for me I got out of it wihtout any injuries, Virtues be praised!, and we could continue on our task.

http://home.online.no/~anjacob2/pics/uo/grd/grd_jrtask_ogre.jpg

A short while later we found ourself standing in front of a bridge leading onto a small island in a pond.. Strange place to find a lake if you ask me. Anyhow... We could clearly see three ogre lords on the far side of the bridge. We realised that we had no chanse to take on all three of them at the same time, so we decided to sneak over the bridge to lure one of them to follow. This of course didnt work out too well, at least not at the first go. Two of them smelly giants followed us back and we had a hell of a fight before us. We couldn't keep up with the bandages due to their rageing swings with their clubs, and simply had to split up and skirmish. After the first ogre hit the ground we were able to form up and bandage eachother, wich of course made the whole operation much easier for us.
After having taken down two ogre lords, and that without any injuries worth mentioning, we were eager to try taking on a couple more of them. This time we managed to only beguile one of them, makeing the fight a lot easier.

After this we found our way back out of the cave. Most of the ettins had already been driven of by another adventurer, making the way out seem like a walk in the park.

Patroll
I started my patroll by heading South and around the lich forest before I turned West all the way out to the coast. I then walked through the mountain pass back towards the orc fort. After that I travelled back towards Stonekeep and continued further North East, almost up to the shrine of Justice before I sat course for home.

It was a rather busy night on patroll. I had my hands full from start to end with fighting of hostile creatures.

Night's Watch, Day Three..

It is important to remain vigilant, even in the relative peace that the Heartland of Yew seems to enjoy. As such, I conducted a patrol of the Southeastern Road after completing my rounds of the Keep. It may be true that no human army marches against Yew, but the forest are still a perilous place. It is evident that measures are needed to help cull the increasing number of Ogres, Harpies, and even Brigand Rabble.

Most of my patrol, was done in the ruins of what use to be Nihon, what a savage place it has become. However, I do hope that, after finishing my patrol; the region will enjoy peace, even if only temporary.
