Yesterday the Poultry Tournament took place - it was hardly an epic affair, wi' only five entrants, and to make matters worse the entered chickens all seemed to be pacifists!
The entries were:-
Captain Dart's Pecker Poco
Corporal Walker's Coba
Rookie Waywatcher Brown's Pip
Footman Joseph's Bob
and Trainee Elwood McCormick's Mooby.

We relocated the fights to the woods to see if that made the fowl more warlike. In the first round Pip vanquished Bob, and Coba made minced chicken of Mooby.
Then Pecker Poco wiped out both Coba and Pip to win the Gold Cup. Annwyn took silver.

Another win for the captain! I'm beginnin' to think his chickens are descended from harpies.
