I decided to take up a challenge placed by the Command group. That challenge was: Survival.
Here is the scenerio; The infected have won, you are the last one alive and you must make a run for it. You are to survive in the woods overnight. Using only your survival kit. Simple!
A survival kit consists of; a light source, bedroll, fletching tool, bow, fifty arrows minimum, carpentry tool, dagger, hatchet for woodcutting, skillet, The King's Law book, Recruitment book, scissors, bandages, tongs, sewing kit, and a Parade arm.
I traveled through Shame passage, trying to get as far away from Civilization as I could. From there I picked my spot. Location is always key! Nearby was a great water source, food aplenty to hunt and most importantly a place to hide should the infected find you!
After finding my location, I then set about the task of gathering wood with my hatchet. This wood was to be used for my shelter. Included in that, I save some pieces in order to make more arrows with my fletching tool. Finally I had enough to build the shelter. Setting it aside, I grabbed my bow and proceeded to hunt for food and hides.
Finally after tracking a panther, I quickly took the kill shot. My bandages were used to covered up the nasty sratch that cat gave me.
Using my dagger, I skinned the panther and gathered up all the meat and hides, I returned to my camp site. The hides were perfect for for the roof of my shelter, so using my sewing kit and scissors, I cut up the hides and stiched them together.
Finally, as it was getting dark, I grabbed my carpentry tool to cut the logs to the correct size and build my shelter wall. By the time I was finished, it was fully dark, so grabbing my torch as a light source, I set it up in order to build a fire.
The shelter was complete! Placing my bedroll inside, I grabbed up my skillet and procedded to cook myself some dinner. I had to use my tongs to turn the meat, even though they are normally used to repair my armour.
While waiting for dinner to cook, I picked up my Parade arm and practiced some drills. The smell wafted my way and I knew chow was complete. Quickly scooping it up, I downed every bite. Finally, growing tired I grabbed The King's Law book and the Recruitment book to glance over before bed. It was a long day, yet enjoyable. I know I can survive, no matter the challenge.
