Under Captain Dart's command, a group of Guardsmen set off for the desert in Malas to try our skill against a mythical yellow beast that Aiden told us inhabited a pyramid there. Travelling to Umbra, we trekked south into the desert - strange that folk would live there, the heat was terrible and the sand creeps inside yer armour and chafes ye!
Eventually we found a small camp. The captain said it looked like ark...arc..graverobbers were in the area, but we saw nobody about.

The group didna feel like bravin' the pyramid in the dark, so we spent the night in the camp. In the mornin' we approached the pyramid, and scrambled around the sand-choked walls lookin' fer a way inside. At last, by climbin' a ruined ramp we succeeded in reachin' the top, where we found a dark hole, wi' ominous noises comin' out.

While peerin' down the hole, Aiden fell in, so we were committed. We all jumped down, ter find the place crawlin' wi' deadites! Fightin' our way through fetid rooms and down crumblin' stairways we came ter the bottom chamber and there it was! A wierd-lookin' beast wi' a lion's body and a man's head! Mind, it wasna yellow, it was purple!
It put up a nasty fight but we felled it. It then occurred to us to wonder how we were goin' ter get out, but luckily we found a weakened area in the wall and managed ter squeeze ourselves through it ter the outside air.

Resting up back in the camp we wondered what had happened ter the robbers. I reckon they were killed by deadites, mebbe they're deadites themselves now. We trekked back to Umbra and then to Stonekeep.

It was another successful patrol fer the Militia!
