View Full Version : Keeping order

It is imperative to ensure that law and order is restored after the period of relative anarchy that has plagued our town following the recent shortages and distressing incidents, especially with the new change in power. To that end, I equipped the assembled guardsmen with clubs (and riot shields for those that could carry them) and organised a patrol through central Yew, on the look out for crime. Below is a short list of incidents we encountered:

1. By the graveyard, we found that someone or something had killed a horse - a pointless criminal act. We looked for suspects but the only nearby bloke was apparently more interested in getting married than killing horses.

2. At the sheep pen, we found a man wearing orange leather thigh boots - clearly a man lover, but we can't do owt without proof. However when inspecting the sheep we'd found that some female who claimed to be a 'seeker of adventure' had killed three of the livestock! We were going to take her in for questioning, but unfortunately she...er...died from shock when we approached her. Terrible loss of life, but she -was- a criminal.

3. In one of the western farm houses, we found an illegal cake. Before I could take it in as evidence however, Cordelia went ahead and ate it. Tss. I thought cravings -ended- after giving birth? There's no bloody excuse.

4. At the town centre, myself and Smit were pushed into some kind of strange portal I hadn't seen before by the increasingly anarchic Cordelia. The place we found ourselves in was what I imagine hell would be like - the designers clearly had the taste of Trinsicians and it was full of elves. Thankfully we were able to escape the madness soon enough.

5. Before we could move onto the abbey, a churchman approached us and had me line the men up. He sneered at the idea of helping the common Yewish peasants when we could be out risking our lives to earn crowns to fund church luxuries. That's the impression I got anyway. In any case, he dismissed me before taking off the remaining guardsmen to do something like beat up a 12 year old girl for not paying her tithe. I don't know.

Overall, I think it could have gone a bit better. We didn't catch the horse thief and only one sheep killer was brought to natural justice. Hopefully the people saw us out and about doing our jobs though, and those clubs were pretty intimidating.
