As Yew enters its fourth day of an intensive heatwave, news emerges that water held under secure storage was tampered with late last night, effectively meaning up to a third of Yew's rationable water is now contaminated and unfit for consumption.
Rumours that all remaining stocks of water could be confiscated have provoked panic purchases and widespread hoarding.
As an aside Yew is curiously experiencing a boom in tourism having seen its visitor numbers double on last year's limited figures during this period.
