Yew's most wanted

"Captain Arkay".. Reading through the list of Yew's most wanted again I kept being drawn to this name. 250 copper for capturing him.. How hard could it be? All I needed was some men, a ship, a plausible story, time, chains, resources, and.. dammit.. I’d spilt my drink down my dress again.. If I couldn't manage to drink a drink without spilling it, how the hell was I supposed to do this? A week later..

Sitting down on the floor, Floria began to write. She had to get this stupid report finished before she could head to bed. The day had been long and she wanted nothing more than to sleep. Glancing over at Navaska she sighed softly to herself. She knew she was over reacting, but hearing him say some of those things in Nujel'm had gotten to her. Even if she knew they couldn't have been true, it wasn't nice to hear it. She'd talk to him later, this report needed writing

Everything was in place, I'd hired a pirate to sail us from location to location. They'll do anything for a small amount of gold, plus no questions would be asked. He was briefed and 'ready for action'; my story for the Captain was ready. I'd practiced it a few times on Navaska to be sure I could pull it off. I was but a shy young messenger, sent to him to deliver a letter from "Former Commander Eason". Navaska had earlier in the week managed to obtain an old letter from the commander. We followed his style to the letter. Even his original seal was copied and put into this letter. Though, we needn't have gone to so much bother as I later found out. Mister Arkay cannot read.

Waiting at the Keep for those who signed up to arrive, I was soon disappointed. Out of the six who signed up, only Ditriteous was here. Didn't they know important this was? obviously not, I hadn't been able to release any details incase the Covians discovered our plans.. but still! Looking around I spotted a stray footman,
"In line footman!"
.. though since I wasn't in uniform; he took it at first to mean he didn't have to follow orders.. I was in disguise! Sheesh! Eventually a few more men trickled in. Tristian D'Gar finally graced us with his presence, and I remembered I'd asked Navaska to meet us at the kidnap point so he can ensure it stays clear. Feel bad for getting angry that he wasn't here now. Gathering the men up inside the meeting hall I briefed them all on the plan. Acquiring one more man, whom I later discovered to be named Lewiswe set off to the moongate.

Standing at the moongate, I began to doubt my capabilities. They'd all been picking holes and flaws in my plan. I wasn't stupid, I -knew- going via Swaggers wasn't the best idea. But I'd done my research. As long as we hurried past we'd be fine. If we'd gone via Minoc we'd have had to go through Ophidians, and past the Covian Barracks. Had we gone straight, we'd have passed the Vesperians as they'd planned to target the Ophidian problem that eve. Swaggers was the safest route. but oohh no, they ignored my warning, held us up even more.. and! Then blamed me for it. Finally arriving at the location, and waiting for everyone to turn up I briefed them on the last few details and ordered them take cover.

Heading to the Covian Barracks, I was slightly nervous who am I kidding I was terrified. I arrived and headed in.. my nerves merely helping my shy persona I was to put on. Asking for the Captain was probably the hardest part. His dear little wife so protective of him. Eventually I persuaded her I didn't intend to run off with him, I mean seriously, I have -some- taste. merely deliver a message. So she fetched him for me.

The meeting with him was alot easier than I had anticipated. He couldn't read, so it gave me a chance to 'prove' I had no idea what was in the letter when I read it to him.
Foolishly believing every word thought a Captain of any army would have a little more sense, or been a little harder to convince, he followed me straight into the trap.

As anticipated, we were followed by his doting wife, though that worked in our favour later on. He was ambushed and shoved onto the ship, where we changed his clothes for that of our own trainees and set sail. Leaving Tristian behind to fend off those who tried to follow. Not that they stood a chance, there wasn't another ship to be seen anywhere.

After a somewhat.. interesting journey, we were dropped off in Nujel'm. Sending half the men back to Yew, I worried for their safety. It would more than likely be filled with Covians by now, in search of Arkay.

Though, I later discovered my trusty pirate dumped them all in Moonglow, too cowardly to go all the way to Yew!

Ditriteous, Navaska, Lewis and myself stayed on the island to begin the questioning. (The writing gets very jagged here, with lots of little blots of ink where the writer has sat hovering the quill over the page) Navaska and Ditriteous did the majority of the questioning, I wasn't sure what we were to ask. Arkay surprised me here, I thought he'd be a coward and give up the information freely, I was wrong.

They took to more aggressive means to get the information out of him. They tried roughing him up a little, to no avail. So we played our trump card; Mela, his recently wedded wife. Arkay was told we had captured her, and that the men were having their fun "questioning" her.

He didn't believe us so we provided 'proof'. A Covian kilt , which obviously didn’t belong to her, but it did the trick. Arkay's tone changed after this, he was a lot more helpful.. though to seal the deal.. (The writing gets extremely jagged and sharp here, the paper torn in some places as the quill is heavily dragged through it) Navaska went off to have his 'fun' with her. Banging the bed in the next room against the wall, and making all sorts of groaning noises.

Arkay's face turned pale, he knew we were 'serious'. He continued to insult us though, calling 'Bastards' and all sorts.

After that he was a lot more co-operative, he told us all the information we asked for. Though, Ditriteous and Navaska thought it important to torture him some more and both went of to 'play' with her. Trying to remain calm and remember the noises we heard were just for show, I remained silent until they returned. Letting Arkay hear every noise as clearly as I heard them.

After what seemed an eternity of banging and groaning, Ditriteous and Navaska returned. We probed Arkay for any last information and headed outside to discuss what to do with him now.

I'm not entirely sure what happened after that, I was ordered onto the ship so I couldn't see. Though they joined me a while later without Arkay, and rather sadistic looking grins on their faces.

The other (where they hold all secret meetings) is in the Grenadier Headquarter.
(built into the bedrock of the shore beneath the Hunter Lodge.)
Kiran from the Swaggers inn, is one of the main three rebel leaders
Lady Tabbitha is the second
and quite obviously Arkay is the third.

Overall:
Overall I feel the plan worked fairly well. There were a few hiccups along the way, but they were quickly smoothed out by the quick thinking and guile of some of our men, and of course myself.

(For those of you wondering what became of our pirate friend..)
