Apply for Mayor
We will shortly be holding mayoral elections in Yew and it is time for candidates to come forward.
Do you think you have what it takes to aid, support and be responsible for the growth of Yew? Begin your election campaign today!
Any individual can run for mayor, however you must register in Stonekeep before Sunday March 14th.
If elected you will hold one of three permanent seats on the Protectorate Council until your term ends and you are replaced or re-elected.
Your duties will include handling all domestic matters relating to the citizens of Yew, updating Yewish by-laws, granting citizenship, trade licenses and overseeing spending within Yew.
The Mayor has a range of specific powers and duties, as well as the clout necessary to attempt anything that will promote economic and social development in Yew.
On Monday March 22nd the elections will be held and you will be expected to give your official candidate speech on Monday March 15th at 9pm in the Protectorate Offices. Numerous political debates will be held between your first candidate speech and the elections and you will be encouraged to attend in order to further your campaign.
OOC:
The Mayor position must be occupied by someone who is prepared to run citizen-orientated events, these should be designed to encourage civilian activity and roleplay. These events can involve guardsmen but on a primarily off-duty basis.
The Mayor position cannot be occupied by a guardsman, however a guardsman could leave his or her position within the Militia temporarily to undertake the role of Mayor.
Alternatively the player of a guardsman with an appropriate alternative character could be elected to the position.
Mayor is an elected position and elections will take place as and when it is deemed necessary, at which time you may run for re-election.
