Well today as I come on duty I found a big man at the tavern. He was dressed in red, had white beard and mustache, a bag beside him that looked stuffed, and two deer. As it happens to be one of my duties to collect taxes, so I did. He asked me if I knew who he was. As I explained to him I knew, yes, but I was just doing my job. He told me not to make him put me on the naughty list. I explained to him it was only one of my duties.
He grumbled and grumbled, but I did tax him. This man's name Was Saint Nicholas. I would not care if his name was the Avatar I would carry out my duties as a Guardsmen. Well doing my job as a guardsmen got me on this naughty list, but I did get them taxes. Hopefully I just do not get coal in my stocking this year. If i do it is just because Saint Ncholas thinks he is better than everyone else. Not in my book, he is in Stone Keep he get the same rights as everyone else including taxes.
Saint Nicholas complained that I charged him fifty gold, But I explained to him he got off lucky cause I could have charged him for histwo deer aswell. It was just my holiday present to him to just charge him the fifty gold. Sence he put me on the naughty list i just may go back and charge him for the two deer.
