Today Corporal Tripps decided to lead a very early morning patrol to check out Yew. With the recent murders, attacks by Vampires and the Undead and the fire at the smaller of the two Yewish healers last night the citizens where on edge.
The first half of the patrol was dull as ditch water, but once we arrived in the town just as the sun was starting to rise it all hit the fan. I went to check the main healing hut with Timothy Young while Hawk and Tripps checked out the butchers and the bowyers.
The smell of smoke gave the danger away as we approached the healers, and within seconds both myself and the Watcher had dashed to the doors. Flinging them open we discovered the office and laboratory space ablaze. After rousing the sleeping citizens of Yew we where able to bring the flames under control, and prevent them spreading to the beds or any other building, but the damage was done by this time. The healers will be out of action for at least two weeks.

Tripps assigned me the task of getting to the bottom of these fires, and I set straight to work questioning the beggars and local residents.

Jack, the owner of a shop in the town was most forthcoming after his initial attempt at evasion and denial.

After offering him the smallest of incentives he spilt his guts on everything else he knew.

After releasing Jack I set off in pursuit of the Mercenaries, only an hour or so had gone by since they had left the healers, it was possible I’d be able to catch them.

Sadly I was just too late, the citizen count of Yew had dropped by another four.

I will contact my snouts over the next few days, see if I can uncover anything on these Mercs. I highly doubt they attacked on their own initiative, and I’m sure I can get them to talk. They will still pay for their crimes, but I don’t need to tell them that till they talk.
