Appearance

A reasonably tall man with coarse features and a brutish build. Daven’s face is mostly covered by a thick beard, which is cropped short. His hair is dyed red, from his days as a Besieger, though some suicidal guardsmen have been known to call him Captain Pinkbeard. His body is covered with various knicks and scars; evidence of a long battling career. The most promiment is a large sinuous burn upon his right arm.

History

Born and raised in Yew, Daven spent his early years working for his father. Part of a long-line of carpenters, Daven became the first to abandon the trade and take up arms when his father died. He lived his entire life in Yew, leaving only to make war or in search of a good tavern.

Guardsmen Career

As a Sergeant in the Militia he was charged with organising and leading the Heavy Company and to a lesser extent the entire Militia. He frequently led guardsmen in and out of battle, in training and patrols, disciplined and promoted or demoted them. Daven is known as a crude, violent man and sometimes lazy man, but in his time has been a solid Officer and decent fighter. Having reached the rank of Captain and later retired, Daven's career goals have long-since been reached, so Daven pursues whatever takes his fancy at any given moment; typically the latest sporting event.

Personality

Daven is an aggressive and arrogant man. He enjoys banter, but his words may often be seen cruel insults. Combat is another great love of his, despite the many risks. He often acts in self-interest and is somewhat faithless. However he holds a great loyalty to the Militia and to Yew itself and would willingly die for them. His patriotism typically makes him suspicious of strangers and other races.

Lawful Neutral – Daven is concerned with enforcing the King's Law, but it doesn’t matter overly to him whether a thing is right or wrong. He will happily give or follow a cruel and brutal order. Alternatively he might risk much to do a good deed, if the moment takes him.
