Top Trumps Rules
You will need: A deck of Top Trumps cards, an empty box and an opponent.
It is up to you which style of game you opt to play out of Friendly or Challenge, the rules for both are the same, however a Challenge style game will see items or assets up for grabs.
You must decide what you are playing for prior to beginning the game.
To begin, one player will choose a category from their top trumps card (e.g Charisma)
Both players will then choose a card to ‘play’ keeping in mind the category of choice.
The player on the left places his card in the left hand side of the box, the player on the right places theirs on the right.
Whoever has the card with the highest points in the chosen category wins that round. In the event of a draw, both players return their cards to their deck to be played again.
If the left hand player wins, the cards will be moved to the left of the box (keeping the two player's cards separate) and if the right hand player wins they’d be moved to the right.
The game will continue until one player is out of cards. When this occurs the player with the most cards in their half of the box wins.
Cards are then given back to their original owner.
The player choosing the category will alternate from round to round.
You can always trade or purchase cards in order to balance your deck.
There will also be opportunities for you to win powerful specialist cards, as well as the opportunity for you to win useful boost cards to increase or decrease the statistics of your current deck.
These boost cards are known as 'Empowerment cards' and may be played alongside your main deck, they may only be used once per game and only one at a time.
