The Yewish Mayoral Election results are in after a fantastic voting turnout, the final totals were just as close as anticipated, so close in fact that a recount was required to verify the legitimacy of the final calculations.

Mayor David Brooker has apparently announced that he will be offering the position of Deputy Mayor to fellow candidate Kain Raslo after admitting he had been inspired by the former guardsman's impassioned speeches and was looking forward to working towards realising their shared dream of a more prosperous Yew.

Mayor Brooker's acceptance speech shall be held in Yew Proper (http://www.grd-europa.co.uk/yew.png), Town Square at 8pm this evening.

During the election ceremony, I took down some notes and copied our new Mayor's speech. Our good Captain began the ceremony by lining up the Guard for the new Mayor:

The captain then corrected us as to where the mayor was standing, and clarified what a podium was.

Once we were properly sorted, the Mayor was considerate enough to keep his speech short. As he was kind enough to do so, I was able to jot down the text of his speech for posterity.
