As you will of no doubt be aware, Northern Alliance forces have been taking great interest in our Eastern Yewish border over the last four weeks.
Their recent activity led to a clash of forces this past Sunday on the bridge separating our territory from theirs.
They were easily crushed, however their aggression shows no signs of subsiding and according to intelligence reports they have ploughed substantial funding into military build-up with an apparent view to pushing into our territory.

Having met with Baron Edmund Fairholm and our Skara Braen allies to discuss a plan of action it was readily agreed that no further aggressions would be tolerated and we would move not only to quash any offensive steps they may make but also to embark upon an ambitious strategy that could optimistically see us in command of Vesper by winter.

Our recent victories might have dented Alliance morale but we should be under no illusions that the deeper we push into their territory the greater their resilience shall become. Our own morale is key to this conflict and I would encourage each of you to go to great lengths to maintain it, however not at the expense of discipline or training. I trust you will all find the correct balance.

We shall move to secure the bridge and its surroundings tomorrow at nightfall. Ensure both yourselves and our guardsmen are well rested for the battle ahead.

Public Announcement
*Nailed to every door in Yew*

Despite being abandoned by our Loyalist allies, a force of around twenty Guardsmen held off the combined power of a Vesperian and Covian assault to eek out a close victory this evening on our eastern border.
Our junior ranks performed with prowess beyond their years and training as they removed many key targets from the battlefield, whilst our regular and veteran troops set about dispatching the opposition in a flurry of lightning fast manoeuvres that left the Vesperians fizzling in the dirt and the Covians turned upside down in their tin cans.

The people of Yew can look upon the men and women who work to protect them day in and day out with great pride, for the Guardsmen Militia of Yew is still surely the greatest fighting force in the world.

With our troops leading the way Yew can surely look forward to a new era of prosperity for all.

As you will all have noticed our British allies have failed on two occasions now to send forth promised assistance in the war against the Northern Alliance.
Whilst I will be investigating the reasons behind these failures, I would remind you all that it has been Militia policy for many years to never rely on supposed allies to accomplish our goals.
In view of this I would encourage you all to maximise recruitment efforts so as to ensure that should we be forced to continue this war alone that we maintain the same levels of success as in previous weeks.

I would also remind you that it is vital to our war efforts that our newly liberated territory is patrolled regularly so as to avoid rebel incursions posing a problem for the security of the region. I have enclosed copies of a revised map of our territories.

Whilst we have signed a treaty of peace, you should not for one moment consider this a permanent arrangement.
As it stands our borders are arranged as thus:

You will notice that we are rapidly approaching Cove itself, however we have agreed to peace primarily due to the fact that our allies are currently in disarray. Despite the fact that we could single-handedly take Cove and then Vesper in quick succession, I struggle to believe we would be able to hold our newly liberated territory when you consider that our manpower is already stretched across numerous fronts. We shall for now focus on resolving domestic issues such as the blight and the Mill before extending our influence elsewhere.

We shall of course consolidate our position on their borders and later begin work on a new road north of the Covetous mountain range which will link up with Minoc. Vesper have agreed to cede territory to Minoc so that the road may be built, however the road itself will be considered neutral territory and as such only small arms may be carried.
See to it that any siege equipment is left in Yew when on patrol to Minoc.

As some of you maybe aware, Tonight after the former Baron Heaths funeral, We detained and brought back to Yew, Kiran, During his detainment, Vesper declared the peace agreement null and void, Later this evening they took to prove this was the case. They directly assaulted Stonekeep, Guardsmen and Citizens, in a mislead attempt to free Kiran, During the scuffle, One of the Vesperians was captured, so along with Kiran we detained a second Vesperian.

So as of this moment, I guess I must sadly inform you, the Peace has broken.

During the short future period, I shall be stepping up patrols around Yew and increasing Training and combat readiness.
