Response to Bears Beware!
I trawled the forests looking for bears, and questioned whether the last culling was more effective than the command had realised. Nevertheless, orders are orders, and I set to my task of taking some bear hides.
The task was relatively simple, though it did take some searching. I provided some sketches of the slain bears, and killed one extra for good measure! I managed to get away with only one bite to the buttcheeks as well! All in all a successful hunt.

Just north-northeast of stone keep I encountered many bears and was set on doing my part to reduce the population.

*There is a stange smell and bits of fur stuck to this note*
Well having been... repromoted... of sorts, to footman I decided I should probably get myself busy before the Captain changes his mind so I set off on patrol to the Eastern bridge. I hadn't set more that a few paces out of Stonekeep when I found a bear bustling in the undergrowth digging at the ground! I put it down at once and carried on only to be set on by a small family of bears!
I had head that there had been a string of attacks recently on citizens and the lumberjacks of Yew, but on my patrol I found the situation may be far worse than I first believed, there were even bears in the outpost! I killed as many of them as I could and even skinned a few for the meat.. (I hear we are looking for new recipies for the tavern)..

My recent walks through the forest around Stonekeep has shown me that there is indeed a large abundance of bears in the area these days, so culling the population did indeed seem like a good idea, and a good way to pass the time...

Bears, eh? Well, thinking back at poor Jimmy, a victim of a killer bear quite some time ago, while still a young child, I realized that these creatures may pose a real threat. While a few bears are no real problem, the more there are in one territory, the more aggressive they get. Their hunting becomes more desperate, and so they turn to raiding human settlements. Not exactly something one would want, especially with a family as potential bear targets. And so, with a heavy heart, I set about culling the weak and sickly of the animals to allow the stronger, healthier bears to broaden their hunting territories in the woods, thereby removing the threat. Temporarily.
You never know what those bears will think of next.
