Mountain Combat
Guardsmen Attending: Cap'n Bladius Dart, Lance Corporal Ian Sutherns, Veteran Besieger Tommy Nottinbury, First Besieger William Smit, Veteran Guards Garren Vance and Leo Madsen and Myself
This was a training exercise based on combat in the mountains as you can probably guess from the name. To start with we divided into two teams. Reds, William Smit and Ian Sutherns. Blues, Tommy Nottinbury, Garren Vance and Myself. First round was a simple last man standing ontop of the scaffolding supporting the Tavern re-construction. I was mobbed upon and went down in two hits. However the other two being more experienced than me turned the fight around and hurled the other two from the building.
Second round was the same again But ended upon Tommy being forced off the building by Smit. Third, Fourth and Fifth round was to do with fighting on the very peaks of the mountains themselves. We fought a last man standing Upon the highest point of the scaffolding and if you fell off you were then out of the fight.
Third and Fourth rounds ended with the reds unceremoniously being thrown from the building. But with the fifth I opted to stand out to even up the teams a bit and with that followed the loss of my team. Lucky I stood out Eh?

The following round was the same and ended in reds losing. With a great shot from Ian and a smash from Smit it looked like they would win but Smit must’ve tripped and fell off the building by himself. With a distinct incident of toe stepping, which was against the rules, Dart opted to shoot anyone who now broke this rule (harsh if ye ask me).
After this Leo Madsen decided he would grace us with his presence even though he was quite late. Because of his arrival we swapped colours and Madsen joined the Blues. We then took part in a Defend and Attack round. Blues defended the top of the mountain superbly and had obviously had training before... Then we switched and with us defending the mountain it was surely the best guards it had ever seen. *grins* But even with us defending it was not enough as Smit managed to out hit us all. Just because his Mam was an Orc.
To finish we did a last man standing with no teams. Smit won. Bastard.... Dart then decided we had to do a little Confined spaces/Stealth insertion training to top it all off. The idea was to climb down the tavern chimney and insert the building below. Well that was the idea... Smit went first because we all said he couldn’t fit and ended up getting stuck halfway.
Dart then decided with his very logical mind that if we send someone else in on top of him then it would force him down... Ian was then picked to go down but ended up getting stuck as well. Smit was just too large for anyone to move him... Capn’ then ordered me to get in the chimney as two men ontop of smit would surely move him.... As you can probably guess, I got stuck. *mumbles*
Then some smart arse decided to drop some bombs down the chimney ( the tavern which was being re-constructed might I remind you) to blow us out of the top. This worked but ended in the tavern being more damaged by the looks of it. But as i was informed no structural damage was inflicted. Overall it was a good training exercise and I think we all got something out of it (don’t climb down chimneys).
