Tan your hide

Two of our newest trainees have just wandered out of the armoury barefoot. Apparently the only boots we have left in stock are extra extra extra extra large. Of course just to make the situation even worse we can't even tell the bootmakers to crack on as we're also out of leather.

You are to gather some, before a daft little trainee steps on something sharp and I'm forced to deal with the ensuing paperwork.

I woke up this morning with an eigerness to complete a task so I decided to do this one. With the increased risks of drows or undead in the area I decided to ask Nathaniel to assist me for the first part. He was happy to help and joined in for the first few hundred leather. After he left I went and found Llennoc to assist me so I wasn't alone during any part of wandering around the woods near SK.

I managed to put in over 1000 leather into the crafter's building's supplies.

Having had a fairly leisurely morning of guarding, I decided I needed to undertake some hard work. Looking at the notice board, I saw a particularly taxing order needing tending to.

This order required me to gather as much leather as I could carry. I set off to complete it, and though was harassed by a wide range of the Guardian's foul beasts, I slew them all and was able to despatch a good number of wolves, bears, llamas, and goats and procured their hides.

I then returned and made several trips (I do not own a packhorse) to carry it all to the Workshop, and placed it in the proper contained. I made some sketches as proof.

Found a trainee standing around Sk today so got him busy helping me collect leather. In total managed to gather 1006 leather and placed in a box in the workshop.

Like the others i took some time to gather some leather for the trainees, so i wandered around the stone keep killing bulls or wolves, gathering 1003 cut leather.

I'm used to working with leather and cloth. As a tailor its second nature to me. Obtaining the raw materials though is new to me. Those hides are heavy so I'll need a pack horse...

Well this task has taken me some time, I obtained a load o' leather from the bear cull and got the rest of it from my routine patrols. Finally got 1000 sheets of good ol' cut leather and deposited it in the stores.

It was already late in the evening, and I was already done with my duties for the day, but felt too restless to sleep. Remembering that I had read that there was still a shortage of leather I decided that a short walk to gather some might be exactly what I needed...

I headed out from Stonekeep, searching for the wild bears I had heard grumbling and complaining about lately.

Fortunately it did not take long before I was able to track one down, and after a brief fight I had my first few hides collected.

I kept going for more, but soon realized that the hides were much too heavy to carry on my own... So after a quick moment to ponder my options I rushed off to the nearest stable, and soon thereafter had rented myself a pack horse for the rest of the evening.

Returning to the task at hand, I kept tracking down the less friendly Yew wildlife, and slowly my stack of hides was growing.

When I finally had enough I returned back to Stonekeep, and to place the hides in the Workshop.

All in all a job well done, with a bit of help from a friendly horse. 1077 pieces of leather safely tucked away in the chest in the Workshop.

Went out to collect em leathers fer the workshop. I ended up with, well a lot! Far too many to count an whatnot, but ye know how it goes. Took me quite a few trips to get em all down there. Next time Ill be sure to make Kros carry em fer me.

Well the Militia will not go with out boots fer the trainees today. I was given an order to get leather fer thee boot maker. I went and Killed bears, Llamas, black cats, and many other creatures. Well I started out with a packy and I made it there and back. I gathered the bootmaker 1000 oieces of leather. I figured that should do him fer a day or two.
As I headed down the east road I killed several bears and other beast. This lead me to kill other monsters and creature as well. Like orges and trolls. I seen three bandit units, which I killed them too.The one unit tried to Kill my packhorse. I yelled at them idoits and said stop. The officer told me shutup. I told him to stop or he would die. Aswell as his unit.
He laughed and said you are only a guardsmen. I told him, I will show you what a Guardsmen can do. SoI hit him knocked him down and chained him to a tree. Then said watch this. He was yelling help me, one of his units started to attack me. I hit him in the head one time and blood spilled out like water. I hit him again and he was dead. I turned to the Officer and said is that is. His unit ran. He was begging fer him life, I said I will spare yer life if you leave Yew and never return. Him agreed so I took my chains off and said be gone.
This arse then must have not had a brain cell in him head. He turned and tried to hit me. I said Sir be gone. He laughed and said My unit is weak, but I am not. I said do not make me kill you. He tried to hit me, I ducked and smacked him in the leg with my mace. He yelled ooch. I then hit him in the chest with knocked his breath out and he bent over and I kicked him and his head come off. I went and cleaned my uniform and went to work on the report. I did not think I could ever do something like that.

I woke early this morn' and ventured into the Keep, picking up an outstanding duty from the dorm's notice board.

I set about my task of gathering leather for the workshop by choosing only old or lame animals of the forests as well as the Guardian's spawn too.

I hired a pack horse from a rancher in Yew proper to transport the leather I had collected to the workshop and ensured it was entered into the stores safely

Tan Your Hide - a report by Peter Fox, footman.

Well, I set out to gather hides from the game that roam the forests of Yew. Little did I know that I just had set out on a mission that would last me as long as it did. To put it in perspective, a house actually fell down while I was gathering hides! I was side-tracked when a young woman asked me to escort her to Jhelom, and I can't say no to a lady, can I?! All in all, I think I gathered some 850 hides for the storage! All in two days work sah!

As a new Footman i thought best to look at the boards and start my patrols.
i saw this notice and thought this is a long challange so i thought better start soon as possible.
I start with bears and more bears.
The collecting took longer then i thought
It only took a few hours and they seem very long hours and i travelled a long distance to gather all this leather
but i did manage to gather just over a 1000 leather and i placed it all in the workshop in the chest engraved 'Leather'
