Graveyard Garden
For some reason the graveyard is overrun not just by skeletons but by weeds. Some relatives are understandably a little concerned that their loved ones' neatly arranged graves might soon give rise to dandelions which of course would ruin the serene atmosphere of the Yewish Cemetery.
You are to dig up any weeds invading the cemetery and whilst you're at it you might want to tackle the one or two skeletons who occasionally take to wandering about.
Rules
You must provide evidence of your efforts.
You may complete this order as many times as you wish but can only earn a maximum of 50 Silver.
Reward
+10 to 20 Silver dependent upon quality of effort.

I went to the graveyard and started pulling weeds.

That's when the skeletons started getting restless.
47
49
After dispatching all of the skeletons around the area I started pulling weeds around the building in the crypt.
48
After I felt it was adequate I left.

*Penned this day by Llane Cavelryn, Trainee*
Date: Trammel waxing gibbous, Felucca in the first quarter.
Time: It appears to be early evening; the world is sleeping and can't get to the inn.
Since I'm new, I thought I should take on my fair share of the grunt work. I noticed the Captain's orders to go weed the graveyard, so with Sir Ian S.'s permission, I headed that direction.
I first thought it would be easy to fool the skeletons that live there by dressing up as one. Unfortunately, it seemed to attract them more than anything - requiring the re-death of perhaps two dozen of them before I could get any work done.
http://i43.tinypic.com/2qs9nie.jpg
In disguise...
I soon realized why I chose hunting and trading as a profession rather than farming early in life. Pulling weeds is quite difficult, especially for someone who isn't that strong.
http://i43.tinypic.com/34qpevq.jpg
This sucks.
Realizing that this job would take forever, I decided to use some of my old taming skills I learned in the woods and put them to work. I found a boar in the crypts (incidentally, I had no idea they were crypt-dwelling beast) and proceeded to try and enlist it's masticating services... but to no avail.
http://i39.tinypic.com/35hn5zp.jpg
Found a boar... wasn't helpful.
Eventually, I discovered a horse with an appetitie and attempted to enlist several of the skeletons - hoping that solid, honest work would give them peace where departing from life did not.
http://i43.tinypic.com/2417ech.jpg
Found a work crew!
Unfortunately, the skeleton crew didn't seem to want to work. I tried wacking them with my spear into action, but that just made them lay down. At least it seemed to give them peace.
http://i40.tinypic.com/fmnwj8.jpg
Union is one thing, but this is just lazy.
Finally, I convinced the horse to eat weeds - saving me from pulling them, and ultimately doing more work than I could alone. Unfortunately, it got a little over-zealous and ate it's head into a wall. It seemed happy enough, so I left it there and headed off to patrol the Abbey for the next mission.

I made my way to the Graveyard, as ordered to pull some weeds. I took along with me a few plants I had acquired along the way. I do love a beautiful garden after all. I figured the Graveyard could use a bit of brightening up as well!

I went to the cemetery today. There where weeds and other ugly flowers there. I then decided to dig them up. Knowing that just pulling them up they could come back. This was kinda a hot day, but as soon as the rain come it cooled off. So I took out my shovel and started digging.
This took me just a few hours to complete this task. I then went to work filling in the holes I just made, as I was digging these weeds I had to stop several times to kill skeletons. I then took all the nasty flowers and weed I had pulled out to the woods and dumped them in a large pit. This pit was quite full. I am going back another day and burn this pit.
Hey an idea a large bond fire. Plus an outing with games and fun times. This will take place another time. Well I finished my work and headed back to Keep to do my report.

I've had some fine early weapon tests in the cemetary already, so I wasn't about to be scared away by damned skeletons, hence taking up the listed task of ridding the graves of some weeds.
I did contemplate on bringing some flowers, but truth be told I'd rather spend the money on lady Danifae.

I picked up the orders pinned to the notice board to clean up the graveyard. It was a chance for me to reacquaint myself with the area after many years away, get in a little practice with my blade and to also make the place look a little nicer for grieving relatives when they visit.
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4131/cullen4.jpg
I was set upon by undead as soon as I entered the graveyard. I had to rattle a lot of bones before it was quiet enough for me to go about my task of deweeding the place.
The graves were made as tidy as I could manage and I also hacked down the stubborn cobwebs inside the crypts. I hope this is to your satisfaction sir.

Today I return from my first battle with the Militia, wounded, but invigorated. Having spent a large duration of the battle unconscious I was pleased to hear of a victory for our side from Captain Bladius Dart, though not without heavy losses for the Militia and its allies. Despite my short involvement in the battle, I was glad to experience some first-hand combat, and even more glad to walk away with my life. I look forward to more skirmishes in the future - the war seems far from over.
Today I also learned that Militia life, particularly that of a Trainee, is not entirely comprised of combat. When there is nothing else to do, there will always be hard labour. A short visit to the notice board to see what needed done informed me that the local grave-yard is often overgrown with weeds. Eager to assist and earn my pay, even in my injured state, I figured this task should be easy enough to accomplish.
The weeds were proving more of a problem than the skeletons, however. Several hours into my struggle and I had covered less than a quarter of the grave-yard. It quickly became apparent that even though several trainees had been cleaning out weeds before me, they were relentless and kept coming back. I decided to ditch the physical labour in favour of a smarter option.
After consulting with a local alchemist and convincing him that it was in his best interests to be assisting the Militia, I got my hands on a few green bottles of what appeared to be poison. "Guaranteed to get rid of the weeds and keep them away." I was told. Not keen to be back on my knees, I decided to give it a try - and was amazed with the results! I ought to have kept it a secret from the rest of the trainees, in case another such task pops up.
Here's hoping that stuff don't taint the ground.

Extreme Gardening - a report by Peter Fox, trainee.
Those skeletons run wild! Is that a good way to honour the fallen?, I thought as I ran past the graveyard the other day. And then I see this task,
and thought that if I was gonna do the job, I might as well get paid for it!
Now gardening is fer sissies, and usually not something a Guardsman with any form of dignity would do. Except, with the skeletons there, no gardener
dares enter, and it suddenly doesn't seem so girly to pull them weeds out!
So I set out, sword gripped tightly in my hand, shield strapped on properly.
Those skeletons shouldn't be a match for a guard of Yew!, I thought, and they weren't!
So, if I'm to do this gardening thing, I might as well make it interesting.
I hacked them down, one after the other until there was none left. While doing so, I pulled weeds out from the grave,
raked the graves so they looked presentable and pulled out some fungi, too! Who knew gardening could be fun and challenging?!

http://i47.tinypic.com/25p4j7r.jpg Well another day at work as a Guardsmen. My journey took me to the Yew cemetary, where I cutout mushrooms, pulled weeds, and shoveled the walkway. The families ill be pleased I hope. Today was kinda a bad day for this, due to the undead was really at work aswell. As a guardsmen I did not allow the undead to keep me from my work. I killed several skeletons. This was about five hours of work. It was Cold and lonely there, but the undead kept me busy too.
http://i49.tinypic.com/qqo68h.jpg
As I shoveled it seemed to pull more of the undead out. As I made my way around the cemetary I thought to my self. Does the Captain like me? What have I done to get this kind of work? Did I make someone mad? Hmmm it must be a wekly job for the Trainees, but it seems to have been long time sence the last cleaning here. Oh just maybe the Captain and the Lieutenants are just testing me, I thought after clearin out the gravesites. Well I come to the Gates and while I was in the cemetary someone or something came by and broke the Gates
http://i50.tinypic.com/2e398wz.jpg
This was just another job that had to be fixed, Isaid to my self. So I repaired the Gates and a Miss Peters come and said that was nice job. tThen she Grabbed the gates and started to swing on them. I told her that she had to stop. She told me to go feck myself. I chased her and gave er an option. One was to pay me to repair the gates for the second time, two She could fix it, or three spend time in a cell. Well She tought she was faster than a Guardsmen, and went to run. I caught her and she tried to stab me. I hit her with my sword and down she went.
http://i50.tinypic.com/2e398wz.jpg
Some of her friends came and it was just to many for one Guardsmen. The one friend hit me in the arm,and cut my arm open. I took the chance to get away. I ran to the Stone Keep where I lost them. As of today I will arrest Destany Peters for assult on a Guardsmen. I hope she gets the max penalities allowed by law. She will not be free for long she is mine for trail.

It was a quiet night out in Yew, The Stonekeep was quiet, even the birds. I took me a walk and came across to the Graveyard. I stopped by to pay my respects to the dead, And I happen to notice it did not look like anyone was keeping it up with the grass and plants. So I happen to have some materials you would use to chop a lil grass. So, thats just what I did..... And its made a diffrence to the Graveyard.

Gardening? Now that's a task for me, I thought. So I went and cleared the graves, trimmed the grass, and whatnot. Re-buried a ton of skeletons I might add - they just didn't seem to want to stay put in their freshly tidied graves. They kept getting in the way, and I swear, every time I turned around they'd put weeds back where I'd just uprooted them! But at last, I finished.

As i saw the order from Sir Bladius dart to clean up the graveyard from all the weeds i tught it would be an easy job for me to do.
So i set of from Stonekeep to the graveyard, when i arrive i open the big iron gates and enter the graveyeard directly when i set my foot inside i got some skeletons on me i could feel i was not wanted in there.
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4405/namnls4i.jpg
After i had taken down the skeletons i started to drag upp some of the weed but it wasent that easy as i tught it would be some of them where realy big.
http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/8470/namnls5.jpg
After i got it up i walked around in the graveyard looking for weeds and there where lots of them, i couldent take them all it would have taken me the hole day and night and with all this skeletons on me it dident make my job easier.
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/3102/namnls2g.jpg
http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/9862/namnls3.jpg
After some time spendt in the graveyard draging up the weeds and running low on bandages i tught it would be time for me to head back to Stonekeep.

"GRAVEYARD GARDEN"
A. PATROL SIZE AND COMPOSITION:
Ossian Gray, Rank Undetermined
B. OBJECTIVE (Type, location, purpose of patrol):
Dig up any weeds invading the Yew cemetery
C. DATE OF DEPARTURE AND RETURN:
2010/09/30
D. ROUTES THERE AND BACK:
Followed the road north from Stonekeep to the Yew Cemetary.
E. RESULTS OF ENCOUNTERS:
I read that gardening at the cemetary was a standard task for new recruits to the Militia, and thus figured it appropriate for me to attempt the same. Digging up some weeds seemed like a very simple task, in theory. Finding the graveyard so overrun with the undead did complicate things a bit, as it was hard to focus on the task at hand. I realized once I got there that a shovel or such would've been helpful though, as some of the weeds were quite tough to remove by hand, but with enough force it did turn out okay.
F. CONCLUSIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS:
I did find and dispose of a good amount of weeds though, and I did come up with some good ideas for how to better tackle them in the future. The undead were merely an annoyance, but they did get in the way.
