While I was watching the Olympics last week I was approached by the bar manager from the Swaggers Inn. He said that in the past he had had a contract to supply wine to the Marksmen, and that he would like to negotiate a new one.
I was very dubious, after all Swaggers is a den of iniquity, but he offered me a sample glass of the wine he was offering. One sip and I knew we had to have some! I agreed that he should send a catalogue and price list, and that I would discuss it with the Division.
Kevin and I decided that it would be safest to get permission from Command before placing an order, so I arranged a meeting with Corporal Tripps.

The meeting was amicable and the Corporal saw no objection to us ordering wine. The bar manager introduced his companion as a supplier of choice vintages.

I agreed to show any contract to the corporal before finalising it, and to save any empty barrels for him.

A couple of days later Kiran and his friend delivered a large barrel of brandy to me as a sweetener, I suppose. I'll probably give it to the Besiegers - Marksmen don't drink brandy!
I'll present the pricelist at the next Marksman meeting. I have a sample bottle of that special wine, I can't wait to see their faces when they taste it!
