Cooking with guardsmen.

Steak and Kidney Pie:

Twas Corperal Walker, Fraser, meself and Annwyn joined us a little later. To start off I gathered garlic simply by picking it from the woods around Yew, and twas nay hard to find a wild cow to "donate" the steak. Whilst I was foragin' for those bits, Corporal Walker picked some onions and Fraser ground some wheat into flour at the mill. We split up to hunt for kidneys, some suggested orcs often carry them, and also zombies, but tis nay such a good idea to eat thin's yer pick up off dead guardian spawn, so we settled for a good Yewish sheep. Whilst lookin' for a sheep, I pointed out a nest full of eggs, so Corperal Walker reached up and grabbed em for the pie. The water was from the trough outside the tavern, tis as natural as any other.

The flour eggs and water were mixed to make the pastry and rolled out flat like. The meat, onions and garlic was cooked together to make a lovely juicy pie filling. With the pasty shaped into a pie case, the filling was poured in and the whole thing was baked in the oven until twas golden brown outside and the gravy was bubblin' out the edges.

Mmm pie...
