Gold versus Grey is a mock campaign scheduled to take place over a number of weeks, it is designed to simulate a Yewish based offensive which could arise in the event of invasion or rebellion.
This operation will not only test your abilities in combat but also your organisation and rationing as a unit.

For the purposes of this campaign every guardsman from Trainee to Sergeant shall be assigned a team, so if you fail to turn out for campaign events then you are in effect letting your team down.

While territory can only be lost or gained on a Sunday at 8pm, there will be opportunities to gain advantages over your opponents throughout the weeks both during scheduled team events or tasks issued for those of you wishing to use your initiative.

Being without certain territory will result in your team incurring penalties, these may take the form of copper fines, or being denied equipment for the following week's battle.

Teams shall be assigned in full by the end of the 26th of January.

Check back regularly for further information.

Results from Week 1:

Team Grey failed to secure Stonekeep in their daring raid, however their attack destabilised Team Gold's hold on the region, leaving the area disputed going into Week 2.

Team Gold never seemed very likely to turf Team Grey out of the town centre and so it was hardly surprising that their attempt to claim the Healer of Yew failed.

Results from Week 2:

Team Grey heavily outnumbered this week could only watch in despair as Stonekeep was easily reclaimed by Team Gold.
Team Gold taking advantage of their numeric advantage threw wave upon wave of attackers against Team Grey's Empath Abbey stronghold. This risky tactic ultimately paid off when they secured the Abbey in the final moments of the battle.

Team Grey realising that their attempt to secure Stonekeep would fail and seemingly overconfident in their ability to defend Empath Abbey focused their attacks on Deep Forest Healing, a strategy that proved successful as they claimed another territory in their push south.

Consequences:

With both healers in the possession of Team Grey, Team Gold are unable to use healing potions during combat with Team Grey.

With Team Gold now in possession of The Abbey, every member of Team Grey will be fined 10 copper a week until it has been reclaimed.

So that the people who aren't responsible for the loss of the abbey don't have to pay Fraser, Gotrek and myself will not lose any copper per week. The rest of team grey shall be charged 12 copper to make up for it, you lazy bastards. And don't rely on your team mates to get the abbey back for you - if you continue to stop turning up i'll just keep taking copper from you regardless as compensation.

Results from Week 3:

With a revitalised and numerically advantaged Team Grey on the rampage this week Team Gold's tactics were always going to be centred around self-preservation and damage limitation. For the most part they succeeded in frustrating Team Grey for long periods of time. Gold held on valiantly to endure Grey's onslaught but were eventually overpowered by the grit, determination and might of Team Grey at the Vegetable Patch.

In order to concentrate their defences at the Patch, Team Gold had abandoned any hope of defending Empath Abbey or reclaiming Deep Forest Healing. Whilst Gold made late forays into both territories, Grey's dominance proved decisive as they swept to victroy by reclaiming Empath Abbey, successfully defending Deep Forest Healing and routing out any Gold resistance at the Vegetable Patch.

Consequences:

With both healers remaining in the possession of Team Grey, Team Gold are unable to use healing potions during combat with Team Grey.

With Team Grey having reclaimed possession of The Abbey, every member of Team Gold will be fined 10 copper a week until it has been liberated from Grey's clutches.

Results from Week 4:

It was a week where the strain of competition began to show on the faces of both teams, Team Grey focused their efforts on claiming the Western Farms but in the process lost their stronghold of the Court of Truth to Team Gold whilst Gold held onto the recently liberated Stonekeep.

With both farms in possession of Team Grey, every member of Team Gold will be subjected to an increased food tax until a farm has been liberated from Grey's clutches.

Results from Week 5:

Well, there we have it this 'Gold versus Grey rubbish' has finally come to an end with Team Grey walking out ultimate victors in the 5 week regional campaign.
Whilst the point of such an exercise may have been lost on some of the more intellectually deficient in the Militia, I am satisfied that it served its ultimate purpose.

Consequences:

You should now all be adequately prepared for the week ahead and any future campaigns that we may find ourselves heavily involved in.
The methods of achievement may have been unorthodox but should have gone a long way to demonstrating the difficulty of maintaining control over such a vast expanse of hostile territory with limited troops.

Prizes:

The knowledge that you're all once again a unified militia who are ready to deal with any threat posed by our northern neighbours.
